| Funds for Food The Jewish Federation cares about those who are hungry. As part of a countywide effort, the Jewish Community Relations Council, Federation’s advocacy arm, along with students from Moshe Aarons Yeshiva High School (MAYHS) presented two of Middlesex County’s food pantries, M.C.F.O.O.D.S. and Elijah’s Promise, with checks for $500 as designated funds for the purchase of food. For the past year, Federation has increased its response to the hunger crisis, becoming more involved in food related projects with community partners, such as Jewish Family and Vocational Services and other faith based organizations, as well as organizations that incorporate food collection/distribution. By including the MAYHS students, Federation provides young people with the opportunity to see firsthand how to turn advocacy into action and to learn how these agencies provide these critical services to the hungry of Middlesex County. more> |
